Scar Tissue was inspired by Aesop’s fable THE SLAVE AND THE LION. The updated version became about a dangerous man that obsessively needs to repay a kindness. What made the man dangerous was what he did for a living, or more precisely, to support his drug habit. He hurt people. But how? Upon doing some research I discovered the disturbing use of acid as a weapon.

Having experienced my parents divorce, I thought the most fertile ground for the story would be a custody battle. Knowing first hand the extremes that parents will go to "win" their child, my protagonist became The Mother. Her act of kindness and desperate choice sets the story into motion.

SCAR TISSUE was filmed on location in New York. The cast and crew are all professionals that were very generous with their time and talent to tell this story.
